About the Artist:
"What I love so much about story, and hearing other people’s story, and telling my own- is that it’s the closest thing that we have to magic.
And it’s the best way I know to connect to someone else’s Divine, is by hearing their story."
- Glynn Washington
Ashlynne (Ash) Ludwig is a freelance costume designer based in the DC region. Ashlynne was drawn to the craft of costume design as a fortuitous mashup of many passions: visual art, deep research, the creation of clothing, and most importantly: storytelling.
Over the course of her career, Ash’s work has spanned many genres of live performance, and has been seen from the DC to Atlanta areas and as far as Edinburgh Fringe. She approaches character with a combined sense of sincerity and theatricality, with a love for both whimsy and realism.
Ashlynne is currently a part-time faculty member at Montgomery College, where she teaches costume design, construction, and stage makeup. She holds a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and an MFA from the University of Maryland.
